Your meetings,
your markdown.

Granola captures your meetings. Marq quietly archives them to plain Markdown on your Mac. Your Obsidian vault, a git repo, wherever your AI needs context. No copy-paste, no manual work, ever.

Free to download. Uses your own Granola account (a paid Granola plan is needed for transcripts).

Official MCP integration Files stay local Signed & notarized

Your notes shouldn't need copy-paste.

Granola captures your meetings well. But getting them into Obsidian, your AI tools, or a git-tracked archive is manual work. Every meeting, every time. Marq makes it automatic.

What it does

Quiet, reliable, out of your way.

Marq lives in your menu bar and keeps a Markdown mirror of your Granola library. Everything below ships in v0.1.0.

Summaries & transcripts

Every note is written as clean Markdown: the AI summary plus the full transcript, rendered inline under a ## Transcript heading.

Transcripts require a paid Granola plan

Sync on your schedule

Run on a simple interval, or set specific weekdays and times for a weekly sync. Marq wakes up, syncs, and goes quiet again.

Custom filename templates

Keep the default date_title, or build your own from {date} and {title} tokens so files land exactly how you name things.

Collision-safe naming

Two meetings resolve to the same filename? Marq appends -2, -3, and so on. It never silently overwrites one with the other.

Rich YAML frontmatter

Each file carries granola_id, date, and attendees, and turns your Granola folders into tags, so your vault and queries stay organized.

Menu bar quick access

Your recent notes are one click away in the popover, with a one-click Sync Now whenever you don't want to wait for the schedule.

Move your folder anytime

Point Marq at a new destination and it migrates every file it has synced to the new location. That runs off the main thread, so no beachball.

Automatic updates

Marq checks for new releases on launch and installs them in place with one click. Signed and notarized, straight from us.

Light & dark mode

A native Liquid Glass interface that follows your macOS appearance, so Marq feels at home whether your Mac is light or dark.

How it works

Set it once. Forget it exists.

Setup takes about two minutes. After that, Marq runs quietly in the background.

  1. Install Marq

Drag Marq.app to /Applications and launch it. It appears in your menu bar. No dock icon, no window.

  2. Connect Granola & pick a folder

A one-time sign-in opens in your browser. It's standard OAuth, so Marq never sees your Granola password. Then choose any destination: an Obsidian vault, an iCloud folder, a git repo.

  3. Walk away

Marq syncs on the schedule you set. Every meeting (summary, transcript, attendees) is written as clean Markdown, organized by date. Done.

FAQ

Good questions.

Will Marq overwrite my notes?

Granola is the source of truth. When a meeting changes in Granola, Marq rewrites that file, so edit meetings in Granola, not the exported .md. It never silently clobbers two meetings onto one filename.

Does it phone home?

Barely. Two anonymous events: an install ping and per-sync file counts. Never your note content, titles, filenames, or email.

Where do my Granola tokens live?

In a plain JSON file at ~/.config/marq/oauth.json with 0600 permissions, readable only by your user account.
